Harrow Gardens Residence
Also known as the Eddie & Kathy House, Harrow Gardens Residence blends rustic charm with contemporary elegance.
The two-story home features textured brickwork, warm tones, and a rooftop minibar and relaxation zone — creating a space that feels both inviting and uniquely personal.
It’s an example of how thoughtful architecture can transform living into an experience.
Challenge
Designing a compact urban residence that balanced aesthetic warmth with functional flow was the core challenge.
The clients envisioned a modern home with rustic personality, combining exposed brick, natural textures, and cozy interiors, while still maintaining privacy, ventilation, and spatial efficiency within a limited plot in Mount Lavinia’s dense residential fabric. Integrating a rooftop leisure area without compromising the structure’s simplicity and proportion further added to the design complexity.
Solution
Excello’s design team approached the brief through context-responsive architecture, blending brick masonry, concrete, and soft lighting to create a timeless composition.
The layout was carefully zoned to allow natural light and cross-ventilation throughout, while a neutral palette and custom interior finishes brought warmth and cohesion.
The rooftop was transformed into a private retreat, featuring a minimalist minibar and lounge deck that seamlessly extends the living experience upward.
The result is a residence that feels intimate yet open, traditional yet contemporary, a home that truly reflects the character of its owners and the charm of Mount Lavinia.
